E-Learning is one major component of Academy City.

Academy City is an international education institution and consulting company which provides three main services: Practical Academic courses, consulting services and a platform for Learning Management System (LMS).

Platform capability:

On top of the framework we use (please see below), we built advanced E-Learning management system which allow to:

Management system for courses:

• Create a course: After creation of course, instructor uses the Content Management System (CMS), to upload and create the course material. The CMS allows online editing of the material (including images, text, videos … etc.) and creation of special plugin which are unique to the system. The instructor creates sessions and in each session, she/he can create a review homework, group assignment and practice exam.

• Create classes: For each course, a manager can create several classes sharing the same material. Yet, every instructor manages his class separatly.

• Creation of Simulation: This is a special tool for teaching in the new online environment. The simulation is a presentation of real life case studies. Students, in teams, practice real life scenarios and learn to work in a team. We have extensive knowledge in building these type of simulations.

• Plugins: These are special components embedded in the material of the lectures and they provide practical exercises for the students.

• Syllabus: Every course comes with a built in framework to write the syllabus online .

• Blog: Each course has a blog shared among all classes taking the same course.

• Video, Chat and Whiteboard: every class has video conferencing which is turned on by the instructor (there is no need to use zoom). Also, each class has a Whiteboard for the instructor to write on. A copy of the whiteboards are kept for the students to view them at a later time. In addition, each class has a chat. Finally, the instructor is in control of the screens of the students. That is, the students’ screens are always synchronized with the instructor screen.

• Support for multi-languages: We currently opened our system to support English, French and Arabic, but we can open the list to other languages.

The system comes with several management dashboards for instructors and administrators to manage the courses.

Integration with other systems:

The technology we use, allows integration with almost every other platform. We can access information and feed information to every system that supports open API (which is almost every system today provides API).

Core programs and courses:

We offer three main programs each of which include three to four courses. We offer programs in Software Engineering (SE), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Management including emphasis on finance. The courses in each program are implemented in our platform and they include all the components mentioned above.

For the computer science courses, we provide a complete set of working projects which the students install in the first session. We use these projects in all sessions of the course.

Support:

We believe that we have a robust platform which allows one to perform almost every task. But, we are certain that the most important function in an information system is the support team and the infra-structure of the system.

Our platform is being used by top companies around the world. All our consultants are professional computer scientists who have completed our internal training to provide customization and training to our partners.
